How To Make DIY Body Butter

Have you ever wanted to make your own body butter? It’s really simple with a few ingredients. An added bonus is creating your own products and knowing exactly what is in them!

Go ahead and grab your favorite butters and oils.

A general rule of thumb is to use equal parts of butter and equal parts of oil.

I used coconut oil, cocoa butter, and Shea butter. I chose to add avocado oil, black seed oil, sweet almond oil, rice bran oil, and colloidal silver to fight bacteria that may get into the product over time!

✔️ Step 1: Meltdown your butters by using the double boiler method (pot with a small amount of water & glass Pyrex bowl inside)

✔️ Step 2: Transfer melted butters to a room-temperature bowl and let it sit for 10 minutes to slightly cool. Then place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes to thicken but not freeze solid!

✔️Step 3: Place the thicken liquid in the mixing bowl and turn it on for about 10 minutes. Once it’s beginning to whip, make sure you scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl to gran and whip everything.

✔️ After mixing another 10 minutes, add your equal parts of oils + a few drops of essential oil. This is just for the razzle-dazzle of a fragrance! The mixture will thin out and you will have to allow it to whip again. Just keep the mixer going until you have a whipped consistency. I like to allow it to whip another 20 - 30 minutes for a softer setting consistency.

✔️Add the body butter to a container. I spooned mine into a ziplock bag and cut the corner to put it into a container⚡️
